James Yarbrough is a 25-year veteran in the international logistics, freight forwarding, security transport, and warehousing industries. He is currently serving as the Managing Director of Enviro Board Southeast Asia. Mr. Yarbrough is also a Visiting Professor at Thammasat University, the Vice-Chairman of Operation Smile Thailand, and a Director of International Business Development for Asian Tigers Mobility and Logistech Distribution Services.
In the last 10 years Mr. Yarbrough has been a senior leader to some international NGO’s serving Asia-Pacific.
Living and working overseas for over 25 years, Mr. Yarbrough has managed and owned warehousing and forwarding companies in Panama, Thailand, Indonesia, and the US. These companies ranged in size of operations staffing from 400 to 1,200 employees. Much of Mr. Yarbrough’s working career has been as the senior manager brought in to rescue ailing and inefficiently operating companies to establish service excellence and profitability. While serving as the Country Manager for Brink’s Thailand, his company received awards for being the best-managed company in Asia-Pacific from 2000 to 2004.
IN THAILAND JIM CO-FOUNDED THE ‘ADOPT-A-BUS’ PROJECT, WHICH WORKED TO REDUCE AIR POLLUTION BY RETRO-FITTING CATALYTIC CONVERTS ON MUNICIPAL BUSES.
Mr. Yarbrough attended the University of Southern California (International Relations and Economics) and Master’s program at UCLA (Public Administration and Computer Information Systems). After attending the university, Mr. Yarbrough spent several years in the United States Air Force piloting B-52D and C-130 aircraft.
While working as the Country Manager for Brink’s Thailand, Mr. Yarbrough founded and served for seven years as the volunteer National Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director of Operation Smile Thailand. In July of 2008, Habitat for Humanity recruited Mr. Yarbrough to serve as the Asia-Pacific Director for Resource Development. As Director, Mr. Yarbrough oversaw the resource development and capacity building initiatives in the 23 countries comprising the HFH network in Asia-Pacific.
He is married to Marlena and has three adult children. In June 2013 Jim released his book, “Small Bites: Lessons in Leadership – ‘One Bite at a Time”. Mr. Yarbrough has been a proud Rotarian for over 25 years while living in Panama, the US, and in Thailand.
