Christine Ohama, Vice President of Marketing

 

Christine Ohama has extensive experience in all aspects of sales and marketing, including new product launches. Trained as a licensed securities broker by a major NYSE member firm, she managed the statewide launch of an in-branch retail sales program for financial products in a major California banking institution. She also helped to pioneer the concept of “one stop shopping” where insurance and investment products were sold in retail stores, such as JC Penney and others.

In addition, Ms. Ohama managed the sales, marketing and public affairs efforts for the launch of the International Channel, the nation’s first multi-lingual cable station with news and entertainment programming in 22 different languages. She also served as national director, sales strategy for Bravo Cable Networks, where she developed strategic plans with the regional offices to help in their efforts to retain and increase network distribution. She managed Bravo Networks’ relationship with DirecTV, their largest distributor, and worked on national and regional marketing campaigns with retailers such as Best Buy to increase dish sales and to promote Bravo in unaffiliated markets.

She held the position of development director for the Go for Broke Educational Foundation and successfully managed their major fund raising campaigns, including their annual gala attended by approximately 1,000 supporters.

Ms. Ohama is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Economics. She is the recipient of several marketing awards in cable television industry. She is an active volunteer in several non-profit organizations and in local political campaigns.
